🏅 13 WordPress themes for crowdfunding 2026

🏅 13 WordPress themes for crowdfunding 2026

You can raise money for a project through WordPress. But if the theme can't display campaign progress and accept payments without jumping through hoops, donors leave for the next project. We know this from dozens of configured sites: a broken donation form on mobile kills conversion faster than a bad headline.

Crowdfunding needs a theme that does three things at once: collects money through an intuitive form, shows progress in real time and doesn't break on mobile. There are dozens of such themes on ThemeForest. But truly working ones, with live donation plugin integration and adequate speed, are few.

We combed through the ThemeForest catalog and selected 13 themes built for fundraising, charity and crowdfunding campaigns. In practice we evaluated three parameters: speed of setting up donation forms, stability under load during active fundraising and quality of the mobile version. The selection includes only those where donation functionality is built in, not duct-taped on, verified across multiple projects. All prices and ratings from theme pages on ThemeForest are current as of July 2026.

⁉️🤔 Frequently asked questions

Which crowdfunding theme to choose if budget is minimal?

Get CrowdPress: theme costs $39 on ThemeForest, Give plugin already inside. For a charity project this is the best compromise of price and functionality: recurring payments, reporting, RTL compatibility. Three demos cover basic scenarios, and GiveWP out of the box closes most fundraising site needs. If budget allows rising to $45, Krowd or Funden give Elementor and Revolution Slider, which simplifies customization without a developer.

How does a crowdfunding theme differ from a regular charity theme?

The main thing, integration with fundraising plugins (WP Crowdfunding, GiveWP, Charitable) and built-in campaign logic: progress bars, deadlines, statuses, goals. A charity theme may simply show a "donate" button. A crowdfunding theme manages the campaign from start to finish: counts collections, updates status, displays donor list, sends email notifications. Qrowd and Krowd go further: allow launching multiple parallel campaigns with different goals and statuses.

Is separate hosting needed for a crowdfunding WordPress site?

Depends on traffic and payment gateway. At campaign start, cheap VPS or shared hosting is enough. If you expect thousands of visitors per day during peak fundraising period, get managed WordPress hosting with caching and CDN. Krowd and Charity Hub use direct PayPal API, server load is lower than when proxying payments through a plugin. CrowdPress with GiveWP generates more server requests (recurring checks, email notifications), for it managed hosting is justified from day one.

Can business themes like Finanza and Financity be used for crowdfunding?

Possible, but with modifications. Finanza and Financity don't have built-in donation forms, they need to be added through plugins (GiveWP or Charitable). Business blocks (services, team, cases) will have to be adapted for the campaign. If the main site task is fundraising, not company presentation, get a specialized theme (Krowd, Charity Hub, CrowdPress). Business themes are justified when crowdfunding is just one of the organization's directions, and the main site should look corporate.

What to do if theme hasn't been updated since 2022?

This is a risk, but not a verdict. Krowd, Charity Hub and Charity haven't received updates for several years, but have thousands of active installations and work. Check three things before buying: compatibility with your PHP version (minimum 8.0), absence of conflicts with your plugins and activity of author support (did they answer latest comments on ThemeForest). If theme hasn't been updated for four years or more, look for an alternative. During this time WordPress changes API, deprecates functions and breaks backward compatibility. HaveHeart (last update in 2021), candidate for replacement in the coming year.

Is multilingual needed for a crowdfunding site?

If your audience is not limited to one country, yes. Krowd, Charity and Finanza support WPML out of the box: translate campaign content into multiple languages without installing a separate theme. CrowdPress covers RTL languages (Arabic, Hebrew). For projects targeting the local market, multilingual is not critical, get a theme without it and save on license.

Bottom line: what to get for your campaign

The choice comes down to three scenarios.

Launching one charity campaign? Get CrowdPress or Charity Hub. CrowdPress wins on price ($39 + GiveWP inside), Charity Hub on reliability (4 486 sales, direct PayPal API). Both will close the task without extra spending.

Building a platform where campaigns are launched by other people? Krowd, Funden or Qrowd. Krowd, the most battle-tested option with 5.00 rating. Qrowd, fresher design and access on Envato Elements. Funden gives maximum premium plugins included.

Crowdfunding is part of a large corporate site? Look at Financity or Alister Bank. These are business themes with solid presentation that can be equipped with GiveWP. Don't get them for a purely fundraising project: you'll spend time adapting blocks you don't need.

If not sure, go with Krowd. In our experience, 877 sales and 5.00 rating, users before you already tested it in battle, and $45 for such functionality is a fair price for a working tool.
